Turning 30... Like Hitting A Brick Wall!!!

Wow... it has been along time since I have posted on here. Seems like lately I have just been to busy. I know Lisa sure has, she threw me the best surprise party I have ever had! She totally got me this last Saturday. What I thought was going to be a cook out at a neighbors party, turned out to be my very own birthday surprise party.

Thank you to everyone that came! I had a wonderful time. To Lisa, my lovely wife I say thank you with all my heart. I love you so much!

Party Weekend...

What a weekend! Lisa had a surprise party for her mom and dad ( well dad wasn't surprised ) Friday night 7/27 for their 50th birthdays. It turned out to be a really good time, lots of people came.

One thing I learned at the party is that either Jasper people are crazy, or really smart. Given the following information, I don't think its the later... Apparently you can hang a bag full of water with a penny in it to keep flies away. I had never heard of this, but none the lest I setup to over 15 fly blockers! I will say that it did seem to work, but my theory is that the flies just thought we were to damn crazy to stick around!

How Nerdy am I?

So while I was at work today, I just happen to come across a site called nerdtests.com and figured, well I better find out just where I stand on the nerdy scale! Mid-Ran Nerd! Can you believe it? That is less than what I thought I would get. Check out for your self just how nerdy you are, go to nerdtest.com and take the test!

I am nerdier than 79% of all people. Are you a nerd? Click here to find out!

Happy 4th of July!

Wow! What a wonderful fourth of July we had! Lisa and I took off for the full week of the 4th, and visited with the family. First we went to Jasper and stayed with Lisa's parents for a couple days. Noah had a good time playing with Grandma and Grandpa Hurst. This it was time to head down to the Big EZ (Laural Lake) and do some camping. Noah took his first boat ride!!! He even took a dip in the lake, not sure what he thinks about it yet, but he did splash around a bit.

So far so good!

Well today is the first full week since I started the gym and according to the scales, I have lost an amazing 5 lb’s!  Ok, its not that amazing, and probably not even real weight, but rather just water.  Oh well, it is still a start.  I can tell you that I do feel much better, and lately have felt like I have more energy.  Which is a good thing, since I have a few more projects that I would like to start…

Brew Day! Weizenbier "Wheat Ale"

Well today was another brew day, Weizenbier. I decided to go with a nice summer time wheat ale! Should be great, I can hardly wait for the three weeks before I can keg it. I decided to take a few pictures during the boil. You can see the wort (cooking beer) almost boiled over on me!!! Yikes!

Morning Work Out!

Today I did my first morning work out since joining the Y. I have to say, i feel much better after getting up and going, but i sure would be easier if someone would just invent some kind of pill for this kind of thing. I know that I could more easily stick to the twinky and ho-ho diet!

Get a Growler... fill up with Bill's Brown Ale!

Well I have kegged and carbonated my first batch of beer! Turned out pretty good I must say! Here is a picture of a Growler filled up with my brew. I also, just put a Red Ale into another keg, which should be ready to drink in the next couple of days.

Fathers Day came and went!

What a wonderful day!  Fathers day came and went just like every other day, but wow what a wonderful day!  I had so much fun with my little boy “Noah”.  He is with out a doubt the 2nd best thing that ever happened to me, the first being my wife Lisa.  Noah recently started giving hugs and kisses, which may sound like a sissy, but it sure feels good to receive one!

We had a really good weekend for fathers day… lots of traveling to the families.  Noah got to play with a lot of his cousins and even saw another baby named Noah.

Keg-O-Rator Finished!

Well I finally finished my home made keg-o-rator! Just in time too, as my first batch of English Brown Ale finished up fermenting over the weekend. I kegged my first batch and put it in the keg-o-rator to chill and carbonate. Ahh, good to the last drop!

So it Starts...

Today I’m planning on joining the YMCA.  The plan is to get into better shape, and Lisa has agreed to let me buy some type of sport car as a reward for reaching my goal!
